Basic Life Support (BLS)

Geared towards healthcare professionals who provide care to patients in a wide variety of settings. This course is often required for employment in most healthcare settings. The course covers CPR and choking management for adults, children, and infants, as well as airway management, BVM and AED use.

    • Recognize cardiac arrest

    • Activation of the the emergency response system

    • Perform high-quality single-rescuer CPR 

    • Multi-rescuer team CPR

    • Adult, Child and Infant CPR and relief of choking

    • Use of an AED

    • Effective ventilations using a barrier device and bag-mask device

    • Opioid-associated life-threatening emergencies

    • NEW: Role of the CPR coach;  Maternal cardiac arrest;  Anaphylaxis;  Drowning;  Heart attack and stroke;  and, Other life-threatening emergencies

Prerequisites: None

Certification: Valid for 1 year
